Varnes Medal of ICL

The Varnes Medal is the highest award provided by the International Consortium on Landslides (Landslides, Vol.1, Issue 2, pp. 163). This award recognizes professional excellence in landslide research and all nominees for the Varnes Medal must meet at least two of the following criteria:

1) Professional excellence in landslide research
2) Significant contribution to public education regarding landslide hazard
3) International recognition for a professional landslide career
4) Influential landslide research or development of methods or techniques
5) Teacher of students who work on landslide issues
